Family Tree Viewer

Web app, 2026

A fraternity chapter keeps its history as a tree: every new member has a big brother, who had one before him, back to the founding class. That history usually lives in a spreadsheet nobody opens. This app turns it into something you can explore: pick a family line, switch between the column view and the radial view, highlight everyone who has held a position, or search for one brother and follow his line in both directions.

Column view of the whole chapter, one colored column per family line — Column view. Each family line has its own color; 309 brothers across 15 lines and 20 generations.

Radial view with family lines fanning out from the center — Radial view of the same data.

A single lineage drawn as a chain of name cards — Following one line from big brother to little brother.

The tree dimmed except for brothers holding the House Manager position — Highlighting a position across the whole chapter.

The tree with President highlighted in the positions list — Another position, another slice of the tree.

Radial view with a few names lit up and the rest dimmed — Highlights in the radial view.
